Aventura is laid out around Aventura Mall, one of the largest retail centers in the United States, with rows of low-rise townhouses giving way to condominium towers along the Intracoastal, many built with marina slips and shared amenity decks. Turnberry Isle, today the JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa, anchors the middle of the city with two 18-hole golf courses, the Soffer and the Miller, and a spa, and the Don Soffer Exercise Trail loops about three miles around the course along Country Club Drive. Waterway parks and paved trails run between the residential clusters, the free Aventura Express shuttle runs three routes through the city, and the Brightline Aventura station stands on West Dixie Highway, just west of the city line.
